Sonographer - (Part-time)
Experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is needed for our medical practice.
The hours for this part time position is Monday 12 pm-5 pm & Friday 12 pm-5 pm.
The principal job duty of the diagnostic medical sonographer is to perform accurate ultrasound tests of a particular area of the body, based on a physician's order. The candidate will prepare equipment for the imaging procedure, then explain the procedure to the patient. The sonographer then directs high-frequency sound waves to the desired area of the patient's body via the ultrasound equipment to create a clear image of the area for analysis and diagnostic purposes. After the procedure is complete, the sonographer is responsible for evaluating images for technical quality but also interpret what was captured in the image. The diagnostic medical sonographer will present images and preliminary findings to physicians and/or medical staff.
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years in a sonography program at an accredited college or university are required and must be certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Two years of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer experience
