Alternative Detention Caseworker – Juvenile Detention
Danville Police Department has an opening for an Alternative Detention Caseworker in the Juvenile Detention Division. This position provides in-home and community supervision of juvenile offenders through the electronic monitoring and outreach detention programs as an alternative to placement in a secure detention facility. The caseworker will also provide prevention services for juveniles referred to the city's Youth and Gang Violence Prevention Program. Good communication skills, oral and written, are a requirement. Must possess general knowledge of human behavior, human development, group and family dynamics, crisis intervention, and counseling techniques. The minimum education requirement is an Associate Degree with knowledge of specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature and one or more years of experience. Must possess a valid driver's license. Starting salary is $36,812.00 - $44,174.00/annually depends on qualification.
