Access Services Specialist / Overnight
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for an Access Services Specialist, Overnight (full-time annual appointment with benefits) position in the Kimbel Library.
Duties include, but are not limited to: performing duties to support the Access Services Department; assisting the Access Services Supervisor in supervising the daily operations of the Access Services Department and overseeing all operations of the department in the absence of the supervisor in a high quality, customer service environment; assisting in the management of the library facility and overseeing the management of the facility in the absence of the supervisor; supervising and overseeing work performed by student assistants; providing exceptional customer service to all constituents including but not limited to faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the community at large; and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and relevant library experience are required. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for work experience. A Bachelor’s degree and experience working in an academic library; experience with library 2.0 technologies, Interlibrary Loan, Reserves, Reference and Circulation; supervisory experience; experience working non-traditional hours are preferred. Additionally, a successful candidate should also possess: the ability to work flexible shifts including overnight and weekends; the ability to respond appropriately to a wide variety of situations and enforce emergency procedures if necessary; computer and technology skills; strong communication and collaboration skills; and the ability to use good judgment and make appropriate decisions.
Normal work hours are 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., days vary. Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University.
