Applications Analyst
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the position of Applications Analyst (Systems Programmer / Developer II) in the Office of Information Technology Services.
This position supports areas including, but not limited to, Housing/Residence Life, Student Affairs (which includes Orientation), Graduate Studies, Procurement and other areas, as needed, with web development and relational database programming needs.
Duties include, but are not limited to: designs, develops and implements programming changes needed for optimal performance of Housing/Residence Life, Student Affairs, Procurement and Graduate Studies; responsible for programming front end functionality, integration of data and content, showcasing and maintaining front-end and server side technologies; maintains existing code within the Housing/Residence Life, Student Affairs, and Graduate Studies Colleague system; performs in-depth analysis and research (for assigned support area) processes and procedures to optimally and efficiently integrate and streamline business processes, which includes preparing reports for Housing/Residence Life and other assigned areas; performs all phases of installation, development, and maintenance for Housing/Residence Life system, serving as project leader and determines resources needed to complete projects; maintain imports and extracts to those systems. Responsible for performing upgrades and patch loads that affect Housing/Residence Life, Student Affairs, Graduate Studies processing, imports, extracts and all functions thereof; provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; assists supervisor and other ITS units with improving operational procedures, processes and standards as well as change management procedures in alignment and collaboration with ITS goals and objectives to advance the University mission; manages and utilizes University/ITS/individual resources and time effectively to accomplish tasks and projects; ensures and maintains information security and confidentiality; provides training and support for Datatel Colleague and in-house developed application to end-users; assists with cross-training ITS colleagues; performs other duties as required and collaborates with ITS colleagues to ensure processes perform efficiently and effectively across all areas for University stakeholders.
Qualifications: A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field. At least (2) years of related experience preferred. Relational database programming skills, HTML programming skills. Web development techniques.
