Assistant Manager of Ticketing & Patron Services
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Assistant Manager of Ticketing and Patron Services (Program Assistant) in University Event and Production Services.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Supervising the day-to-day fiscal and administrative operations of the University Box Office; in the absence of the Manager of Ticketing and Patron Services, managing all operations and functions of the University Box Office; performing all ticket system functions; creating single and series ticketed events; processing ticket orders; performing daily reconciliation of cash drawers and credit card system; processing fiscal disbursements and charge back transactions; ensuring fiscal operations are in compliance with Federal, State and University laws, regulations, policies and procedures; processing the hiring, training, scheduling and payroll of student staff; assisting with the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures for student staff; preparing correspondence; providing input and data for quarterly and Annual Reports; managing general, personnel and fiscal records for the University Box Office; acting as communication link between external and internal constituencies and University support services for Ticketing and Patron Services; maintaining department filing system; developing, implementing, and analyzing strategies for Front-of-House event management in conjunction with University production departments and outside clients; and performing other duties as assigned. In coordination with public safety, Fire Safety and Emergency Management departments, this position also develops, implements, and analyzes emergency venue management and fire preparedness plans and training.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience. Two years of related experience and experience to public venue and ticketing system operations are preferred. Previous bookkeeping, sales and office management experience is also preferred. Licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in South Carolina is required. Additionally, a successful candidate will possess knowledge of performance venue terminology and practices; excellent organization and customer service skills; ability to train other employees; ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures; public relations and negotiating skills; ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and clientele in a professional setting; strong computer skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and data management software; ability to quickly learn specific computer software like Paciolan and 25Live; ability to organize, prioritize, educate, and motivate student crews to act professionally; work efficiently under pressure; solve problems quickly and effectively; understanding of basic budgeting and bookkeeping practices.
Nights, weekends, some holidays and irregular hours required. The Assistant Manager of Ticketing & Patron Services will work in an office and performance environment in the Wheelwright Auditorium as well as in other venues on and off campus. Work will include regular participation in night and weekend events. The Assistant Manager reports to and works closely with the Manager of Ticketing & Patron Services during office hours but must be able to exercise independent judgment in performing a wide variety of duties outside of regular office hours when the Manager is not present.
