Director of Infrastructure Services
COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY seeks candidates for the following position: Director of Infrastructure Services.
Under the direction of the CITO, this position provides effective and collaborative oversight to highly dynamic teams and units that include Network, telecommunication, computer architecture and platform, Cable TV, and fiber infrastructure services, in coordination with the Associate Directors and Managers in those functional units. In coordination with the Associate Directors and in support of the CITO, designs, assists and installs TV cable equipment and maintains this equipment. Coordinates with the various IT units, Facilities and other departments, the planning, design, and development of all TV cabling infrastructure, including fiber for all new or renovated facilities. In coordination with Associate Directors, assists the CITO with the development of and maintenance of sound fiber infrastructure to ensure sound and strategic IP converged solutions and strategic alignment. Manage assigned IT projects and closely collaborates with IT resource management and administration/CITO office.
Duties include, but are not limited to: serving as an escalation point for addressing large network and computer architectures issues and operational procedures processes and operations related to the assigned functional areas of responsibilities; managing and participating in the most complex configuration, maintenance, and repair of applicable technologies and associated equipment including but not limited to: Cisco Firewalls, Cisco network switches, enterprise storage, virtual environment, Data Centers, and UPSs; assisting the CITO in developing, reviewing, and enhancing business continuity plans, information security, and disaster recovery for designated systems; serving as a user consultant and assists with the organization of assigned areas and responsibilities; developing and maintaining operational procedures and standards as well as change management processes in alignment with Associate Directors/Managers and in collaboration with ITS goals and objectives to advance the University mission; mentoring and developing team members through team-building, cross training, collaboration projects, and various other methods to increase productivity and to motivate employees; modeling, promoting and ensuring exceptional customer service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; assisting with procurement activities and development of RFPs for assigned areas; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field required. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Progressively responsible, professional experience related to information technology including supervisory experience as well as hands on/practical experience with network topology, Cisco firewalls, virtual environment, storage, Data Centers, fiber optic, Cisco network switches, and telecommunications systems, also required. At least eight years (8) of progressively responsible, professional experience related to information technology, experience managing an enterprise-scale technology infrastructure, experience with cloud, virtualization, and next generation firewall technologies (VMware and HCI) and experience with regulatory compliance records (GLBA, FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) are preferred.
