IT Network Support Specialist and IT Services Specialist
Coastal Carolina University seeks candidates for the following positions:
IT Network Support Specialist
Duties include, but are not limited to: troubleshooting and assisting with software and hardware issues related to end-user applications, network connections, printer configuration; documenting services performed and solutions in the ITS Service Center ticket system; consulting and serving as a user contact to determine office technology and network needs, and installing new software/equipment in designated areas; training users to operate existing technology equipment; providing exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; writing necessary training manuals and procedure documents to assist faculty, staff and support personnel on applications and devices used; assisting all ITS Client Support Services areas in support and assistance to the University community; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field and two (2) years of experience in the Information Technology and technical support fields are preferred. Additionally, technical knowledge and understanding of end-user applications, operating systems, and web usage are necessary. General knowledge of networks and computer hardware equipment and their functionality. A successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in an academic environment, strong oral and written communication skills; sound problem solving skills; and demonstrated time management skills. A+ and other technical certifications preferred. Position also requires a SC driver license.
