Medical Records Clerk & Media Relations Coordinator
Coastal Carolina University seeks candidates for the following positions
Medical Records Clerk - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and related experience required. Prefer two (2) years of related experience. Equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered. Medical Office/Clerical Assistant certificate and experience in health services environment are preferred. A successful candidate should possess: strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical records maintenance; excellent typing and computer skills; the ability to think analytically, prioritize work under pressure and respond appropriately in emergencies; very strong organization and project skills; accuracy and attention to detail; basic clerical skills; the demonstrated ability to work effectively both independent and as part of a team; strong time management skills; the ability to work energetically and effectively in a fast paced environment; knowledge of the importance of providing caring customer service; and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
Media Relations Coordinator - A bachelor’s degree and related experience are required. Experience in news, public relations, or marketing is preferred. A successful candidate should possess excellent and proven writing, proofreading and editing skills; must possess and demonstrate extensive knowledge in media relations and public relations and incorporate sound journalistic principles for the development and dissemination of information in traditional and emerging technological forms; have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the media, general public and campus community; translate technical material to language which is comprehensive to the general public; possess the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and serve as an effective team member in the division and university.
