The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time Director of Accreditation position within the Dean’s Office. This position oversees the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants (ARCPA) and Southern Association for Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) accreditation processes for the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM). This position also leads and develops accreditation processes, advise senior leadership on accreditation requirements, program evaluations, and alignment with institutional processes. Oversees processes to monitor compliance with accreditation standards and leads continuous quality improvement initiatives. Works closely with the Dean of HWCOM and collaborates with appropriate administrators and committees to ensure strategic alignment of the college’s initiatives with accreditation requirements and strategic plans of the university. This position also collaborates with leadership within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness regarding accreditation programmatic reporting and communications with the goal of maintaining a longitudinal record for the medical school.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and six (6) years of appropriate experience. Desired qualifications include experience with LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education), ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants) and/or SACS- COC (Southern Association for Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges) accreditation, experience in medical education and MD and/or physician assistant master’s degree curriculum.
