Community Building and Grants Manager
The Community Building and Grants Manager oversees all of the Foundation’s community building work and grantmaking programs, as defined by the Bunnelle Foundation’s Board of Directors. This Manager provides information, oversight and technical assistance to grantee and grant-seeking organizations and oversees the Foundation’s Palmetto Giving Day event and the Common Issues/Common Threads initiative.
The person in this role will be regarded across our community as a respectful and considerate ambassador of the Bunnelle Foundation. S/he will be a detail-oriented self-starter who also enjoys being a team player with others in our small office.
Strategic Direction Responsibilities
Grantmaking
- Oversee all Foundation grantmaking programs
- Develop and oversee standard terms and conditions for grant applications and evaluation forms, award, letters, agreements and terms of grants
- Manage the Foundation’s grants management software so that it is current and organized
- Conduct initial screening of new proposals. Counsel grant seekers on grant requests and general information inquiries
- Respond to phone inquiries from applicants and prospective applicants about grantmaking guidelines and status of their requests
- Serve as lead staff in reviewing grantee reports
- Manage the Grant Allocation Committees and facilitate meetings
- Prepare and present reports for the Bunnelle Board
- Prepare overall grant cycle plan in consultation with the Executive Director
- Assist Executive Director with preparation of Foundation’s Grantmaking Budget
- Lead, schedule and participate in site visits to grantees
- Generate and transmit correspondence to applicants (including funding letters and Terms of Grant for grantees). Process Grant letters
- Ensure timely tracking and completion of grant check requests and fulfillment
- Verify grant-seeking and grantee organizations to determine their non-profit status, mission and charitable merit
- Regularly collect updates to grantee information for online directory. Work with Technology Associate to place updated information on Bunnelle website
- Maintain files as applicable
