Substance Use Services Peer Support Specialist
To establish peer recovery services with adults experiencing substance use & mental health issues. Certified Peer Specialist preferred. Full time with benefits. Grant funded.
Under supervision of the Prevention Supervisor, this position is responsible for coordinating substance misuse prevention and suicide prevention efforts within the community. This position provides overall direction for Behavioral Health and Wellness Services, including the planning and provision of behavioral health wellness, education, consultation and early intervention counseling.
This position works collaboratively with community partners in these efforts. The Community Development Specialist provides support for the initiatives of Goochland Powhatan Community Services and the Rural Substance Abuse Awareness Coalition (a collaborative community group that addresses alcohol and drug issues in Goochland and Powhatan) and participates in a variety of community teams and coalitions.
