Mayville State University (MSU), located in Mayville, North Dakota, is pleased to announce the search for its next Vice President of Business Affairs. MSU was founded in 1889 and is now one of 11 unique institutions comprising the North Dakota University system. At Mayville State, student success is of utmost importance and a fundamental component of their historic and current mission as “The School of Personal Service.”  

The Vice President of Business Affairs (VPBA) reports to the President and has direct responsibility for the Business Office, Facilities Services and Physical Plant, Dining Services, Bookstore, and Child Development Programs.  In each of these functions, the VPBA is responsible for providing efficient and cost-effective services responsive to the needs of those served. The VPBA also maintains strong relationships with the University internal stakeholders as well as community leaders and government officials, such as a legislative body.

 

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree with significant experience or a Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.  The successful candidate will also have at least five years of senior leadership with experience leading one or more functional areas, preferrable in a higher education setting, and with a preference for individuals with extensive backgrounds in finance, business services, and/or accounting.

Mayville, the largest community in Traill County, is thriving with beautiful parks and homes, safe and quiet streets, and a quick commute to work. With easy highway access, Grand Forks and Fargo, two of North Dakota’s largest cities, are less than an hour’s drive away.
