Responsibilities
The Administrative Officer 2 in this position is responsible for and manages the Adult Day Care Program at the Southeastern Veteran’s Center in accordance with DMVA, DHS, VA, Aging, and all other applicable regulations. Ensures that all adult day care center operations, policies, and procedures comply with state regulations (6 PA Code Chapter 11).
Primary Duties: Develops and implements policies and procedures that govern the operation of the Adult Day Care Center to ensure that quality of care is maximized. Updates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Administratively directs and coordinates Adult Day Care Center nursing, therapeutic, and other support staff in day-to-day operations to include working with various departments such as Purchasing, Accounting, Storeroom, Nursing, Medical Staff, Activities, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Garage, Security, Revenue, and Human Resources. Submission of required reports to division of licensing as appropriate. Development, implementation and maintenance of corrective action plans. Orientation, training, supervision and evaluation of direct care workers. ADHC manager must participate in marketing efforts within established community and radius. Manage daily participant transportation schedules with internal staff and external transport companies.
Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training: One year as an Administrative Officer 1; or Three years of experience in progressively responsible office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement; and a bachelor’s degree. Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience working with aging adult population is preferred.
Additional Requirements for this Position: Per 6 PA Code Chapter 11 “Older Adult Daily Living Centers,” the following is required: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years social or health services experience in a human services field or setting OR a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a social or health service setting and skills to work with aging adults or adults with functional impairments and to supervise center staff persons.
