The Polynesian Hotel is in search of:

Assistant Director of Housekeeping

Must be well versed in using a computer and must have reliable transportation. Must have at least one year experience in Housekeeping in a Supervisory role.

Primary responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Housekeeping will be to assist the Director in all aspects of the housekeeping department to include but not limited to scheduling of staff, maintaining budgetary guidelines as established by the Controller of the property, staffing reviews, staff training, unit inspections, bookkeeping, inventory control and ordering of housekeeping supplies such as linen and cleaning chemicals.

Front Desk Manager

The person in this position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for establishing and managing front desk operations. This involves coordinating the activities of the reservations, front desk and summer activities (seasonal). Partners with other department heads to ensure that all guest needs and concerns are properly addressed. Participate in business planning and review activities to ensure the financial wellbeing of the Front Desk.

Provide leadership to front desk employees; schedule and conduct training; prepare and communicate performance expectations of resort management and guests; Assign duties and observe performances to ensure adherence to Hotel policies; conduct periodic feedback and performance review sessions; establish employee recognition rewards/events; and when necessary, take disciplinary actions. Resolve front desk discrepancies (financial, reservation, etc).Orders and track vouchers/show attractions.  Hold monthly meeting with FD Staff.

Work with guests to resolve problems by suggesting and applying mutually agreeable solutions. Assist guests in making, changing, and canceling reservations. Register guests into and out of resort. Assist in developing walk-in rates for last minute bookings. Provide information in person and by telephone regarding resort services. Work directly with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure that all guest requests are met in a timely and correct fashion. Work with the Sales Manager to negotiate group rates and actively participate in the yield management program. Attends regular staff meetings and perform special projects as needed by General Manager.
