Grants Specialist – Post Award

Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 61 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Grants Specialist – Post Award with the Graduate Studies & Research Department.

Primary Job Duties: Coordinate grant and contract financial activities for Graduate Studies and Research through pre and post-audit processes as well as post-award grant and contract management. In compliance with sponsored program regulations and applicable policies, this position will be responsible for interpreting regulations, gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports and budgets, monitoring and approving transactions, as well as assist in the planning and development of internal grants and contract processes, problem solving, and technical assistance. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communication, or a related field. 3-5 years of prior experience.

Working knowledge and application of federal, state and local policies governing the sponsored program under federal regulations 2 CFR 200, audit requirements in the Audit Supplement, and policy and procedures or SU, USM and State of Maryland. Ability to interpret contract terms and conditions.

Must be detail-oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, follow-through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.

This is a full-time exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Opportunity to telework may be considered for eligible employees.
