Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of University Special Events Manager in the Office of the President.
Primary Job Duties: This position provides strategic direction, development, implementation, communication, and post-event analysis of major on- and off-campus as well as virtual special events and programs that are under the purview of the Office of the President. This includes all aspects of event planning including developing/maintaining procedures, timelines, site selection, accessibility, vendor negotiations, pre and post-event communication, budget management, staffing/volunteers, permitting and evaluation. These events serve students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and friends of the university. An enthusiasm for Salisbury University and its mission, vision and values are essential.
Minimum Qualifications: Five to seven years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Experience in large-scale event-planning required.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Based on event management needs, this position will require some evening and/or weekend hours.
