DESCRIPTION
The Critical Care Aide provides direct supervision of one particular child who, due to his/her handicapping condition, requires one on one assistance to benefit from the educational program. The Critical Care Aide contributes to providing a safe, therapeutic environment which fosters learning and advancement.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The Critical Care Aide works cooperatively with and under the direction of the Master Teacher to implement the I.E.P. and Care Plan for the child requiring a Critical Care Aide
- Assists the Care Plan team in creating a therapeutic atmosphere for the child and promotes appropriate social interactions
- Helps the student develop adequate emotional and social problem solving skills
- Provides supervision of the child throughout the school day
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED Equivalent required
- A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Related experience with youth in lieu of degree may be substituted
