Job Title: President and Chief Executive Officer
Reports To: United Way of Horry County Board of Trustees
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The President/CEO is the leader of the organization, establishing a vision for Community Impact that is achieved through the efforts of a diverse team of high-performing leaders, staff and volunteers. S/he is responsible for the overall impact achieved through United Way. The President/CEO has unquestioned integrity, a strong sense of accountability, the ability to get things done, wisdom and good judgment, a fair and thoughtful approach to management, and the flexibility and courage to shift direction when needed. S/he leverages the power of relationships and networks, working across private, public and corporate sectors to improve conditions in the community, and understands his/her role in protecting and growing the trust in United Way and its relevance in the community.
The President/CEO possesses a high level of broad business and management skills and is effective at generating resources and financial support for the organization, increasing its capacity to drive impact. S/he is dedicated to shared and measurable goals for common good, working with the Board to craft and adapt strategies to achieve increased impact and the funding to support it. S/he is accountable for building and leading high-performing teams, and has ultimate responsibility for organizational spending, budget compliance, and the mitigation of financial risks.

Communicator: Is able to simplify a very complex organization in a language that people from all levels can understand. Has excellent written and verbal skills.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, fundraising, and financial experience
