The University of Maine System is accepting applications for a Strategic Sourcing Manager. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing sourcing activities of goods and services in compliance with public competitive bid guidelines. This position’s responsibilities encompass approximately $50-70 million in addressable annual spending with the portfolio primarily consisting of high risk-high spend. The Sourcing Manager also is responsible for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for the University’s Leverage and Bottleneck (high risk-high spend) Suppliers. This position is responsible for sourcing goods and services used in the administration and support of the University. Categories include but are not limited to: Facilities, transportation services, energy, professional services, office supplies, travel, furniture, insurance, banking services, IT hardware/software, print, food, scientific equipment and supplies, marketing, and other categories as appropriate to the position.

UMS Strategic Procurement supports Fully Remote / Work-From-Home employees and is not dependent upon a specific physical location. Office space on a University of Maine System campus location can also be provided if desired.

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is low to mid $50s plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated experience leading public or private sector procurement initiatives.
• Demonstrated project management experience.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in business administration or other applicable area of study.
• 5 - 7 years’ experience leading a public or private sector Strategic Sourcing category-based initiatives in an institution with comparable to the complexity of University of Maine Systems.
• Professional Certification (e.g., C.P.M., C.P.S.M.).
