The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for an Administrative Support Associate for the Safety and Security Department. This is a full-time, permanent staff position.
Purpose of the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to Police and Public Safety. This position is the principal point of contact for both telephone and walk in traffic of individuals seeking assistance of Safety and Security of which Police and Public Safety reports to, and as such is responsible for the proper communication and dissemination of information relative to all entities reporting to Safety and Security.
Salary: $36,850 - $41,000
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Job Duties: The employee will study management methods in order to improve workflow, simplify reporting procedures, or implement cost reductions. This position requires the analysis of unit operating practices such as record-keeping systems and forms control. This individual must possess the ability and willingness to create new or revise established procedures when it becomes necessary. The employee must possess extensive computer knowledge including an above-average understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs. One major responsibility is assisting with the management of the confidential police records system, including record organization, maintenance, retention, and document destruction.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and three years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
