Associate Director, Marketing and Communications
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for an Associate Director, Marketing and Communications for the School of Professional Studies. This is a full-time, permanent staff position.
Purpose of the Position: The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications leads the development, implementation and execution of marketing and engagement communications strategies that lead to increased student enrollments in programs within the School of Professional Studies (SPS).
This position, reporting to the Associate Provost, serves as a member of the SPS leadership team, and supervises four SPS MarComm staff; including, Marketing Managers and Engagement Communications Managers. The Associate Director develops and manages marketing budgets/plans and engagement communications plans for SPS and manages the staff, policies, and processes to achieve enrollment growth.
The Associate Director establishes and monitors key marketing and engagement communications performance indicators and makes strategic decisions that result in brand elevation, lead generation, lead nurturing, and enrollment growth. The AD collaborates with SPS leaders and teams; department chairs, and program directors in all of the academic colleges; University Communications leaders and teams, and outside vendors to meet goals.
Salary: $62,329 - $70,000
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and at least three years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment.
Essential Job Duties: Lead the development, implementation, and execution of marketing and engagement communications strategies that lead to increased student enrollments in programs in the School of Professional Studies (SPS). Provide oversight for marketing and communications strategies and functions through research, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation. Serve as a key member of the SPS leadership team and provide the Associate Provost with strategic insight and consultation regarding marketing and communications. Partner with SPS leaders and teams; department chairs and program directors in all of the academic colleges; University Communications leaders and teams, and outside vendors to meet goals. Supervise Marketing Managers, Engagement Communications Managers, student workers, and other resources as assigned. Identify goals and metrics for employees and manage employee performance within a culture focused on a growth mindset. Lead, develop, and execute marketing budgets/plans and engagement communications strategies to support long-term enhanced visibility and reputation among key audiences, including enrollment and awareness goals for new and existing programs. Make strategic decisions based on metrics (keyword rankings, click-through rates, website visitors, lead generation, student engagement, CRM conversions, enrollments, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field. Three-Five years of marketing and communications experience in higher education. Experience collaborating with leaders in a highly matrixed higher education environment to achieve goals. Three-Five years of supervisory experience. Experience leading and supervising remote employees. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience serving as a project manager with strong organizational skills. Track record of effective interpersonal skills and relationship management. Experience managing vendors.
