Job Description:

The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Kentucky University is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET). The University has a strong commitment to achieving diversity among its faculty and staff. We are seeking to fill a full-time, nine-month, tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the MET Program starting August 2025.

The successful candidate must have the ability to guide students in manufacturing projects. The Manufacturing Engineering Technology program is committed to producing graduates who are well prepared for the start of productive, and ever-changing successful careers. 

The responsibilities of this position include teaching, scholarship, and service that are to be conducted within the context of the University, School, and Program mission statements. The successful candidate must participate in the applied learning environment, be dedicated to excellence in teaching, and will be expected to develop a productive scholarly program that engages students in applied research. Service activities at all levels of the university are expected, as well as academic and professional mentoring of students. Our faculty take ownership of the program's curricula and create experiences necessary to prepare students for professional excellence. The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences promotion, tenure, and post-tenure review policies describe the professional and academic qualifications necessary for our program.

 


Requirements:

  • An earned doctorate in Technology, Technology Management, Engineering Management, Adult Education, Industrial Technology or closely related field is required.
  • University-level teaching experience and/or professional experience directly related to Manufacturing.
  • Ability to teach several courses in the MET curriculum including lab-based courses.
